Kristi Lahusen, MA, NCC, PCLC

My professional journey has been diverse, encompassing military service and a broad range of roles across various professions. During my four years of active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard, I worked as a law enforcement officer, search and rescue responder, emergency dispatch operator, and later as an executive assistant. Following my military service, my career path has spanned over two decades, working in real estate and healthcare. I have served in roles that included mobile crisis counseling, conducting mental health evaluations for a county jail, served as a rural counselor for a school district, laboratory sales director for cardiovascular and diabetes prevention, and a nutritional, lifestyle, and fitness trainer. I have also been involved in facilitating mental health groups in psychiatric units, working in rehabilitation with patients with traumatic brain injuries, and counseling in juvenile detention centers.

I have formal training in individual and group counseling from Liberty University where I earned my Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I currently am a licensed clinical professional counselor candidate (PCLC) in the state of Montana. I am currently training in a Child-Centered Play Therapy approach, using various types of play and expressive therapies that are tailored individually to each child. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and am in training in eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.

As a military veteran, I am honored to continue working with and serving military members and their families and further developing my training in trauma interventions. I have been traveling to Montana for vacation for over 20 years and finally made it home several years ago. I am originally from Utah, but have lived all over the country from one coast to another. On my down time, I can be found in various fitness endeavors, skiing, enjoying nature, laughing with friends and family, cooking, playing guitar, or reading a book by a cozy fire.
